Closeup of aquacontroller. Displays tank temp, pH, and oxygen reduction potential. Note: If the display shows random garbage, press and release the "Up" button one time and it should revert back to status display after a few seconds.

View under 205gal cabinet. The skimmer is the tower on the far left with the cup of green goo at the top. If the cup is more than 1/2 full, use the drain valve and hose to empty it into a 32oz slurpee cup.

RK2 Water flow, water level, and air flow checks.

1) Air flow meter: should read between 10 and 15. Note the bubble should be bobbing up and down slightly. If it is not, it is probably stuck and not reading correctly.

2) Water level. This water should approximately even with the bottom of the clear top part of the skimmer, plus or minus 2 inches.

3) Water flow. Should read between 20 and 40. See following closeup picture for more detail.

700gal calcium reactor effluent check. Note the stream of water flowing from the margarine container. This should be a steady stream at all times.

Aquacontroller for 700 is to the left above the utility sink. Check pH and temperature here. pH should read between 7.85 and 8.3. Temperature should be between 78.5 and 82.

Reef equipment box on back patio. Open by lifting lid

Inside the reef equipment box. Chiller is white box on lower left. Nilsen reactor is the tall tube with black lid in the middle. Yellow toolbox contains timers for Nilsen reactor and the dosing pump for makeup water. Gray trash bin contains purified makeup water.

View inside toolbox. Dosing pump is on the left. On the right of the front panel you can see "Daily Total" which indicates how many litres of water will be added each day. If the sump water level is going up or down too much each day you may need to adjust this value. Each number wheel can be turned separately.

Precut mysis shrimp servings. You may need to break up some larger chunks to get an appropriate size serving.

Closeup of left standpipe cap. Note the hole drilled in the top of the cap. This is what will get encrusted with salt over time, blocking airflow.

Cleaning the hole on both standpipes. Use the toothpick to chip away the salt crust. BE CAREFUL not to drop the toothpick in the hole!

Drinkwell water fountain outside master bedroom door. Another fountain is in the kitchen next to the larger dog bowls. Add water each morning, and check each evening.
